"Be the change you want to see in the world." - Ghandi

By buying a Mission Belt you are not only getting one of the raddest belts on the planet but you are also making a difference in the lives of thousands of people around the world.

We searched for a well-known and respected organization to work with and decided Kiva (www.Kiva.org) is the best organization to help us further our mission.  Kiva is a non-profit, peer-to-peer ‘micro-lending’ organization that helps provide opportunities to support economic development and entrepreneurship, mostly in developing countries, as part of its efforts to alleviate poverty and create more economic opportunity. Microloans provide a small sum to borrowers who lack access to traditional sources of funding (ie: banks, grants, loans, credit cards, etc) to start his or her own business. It helps entrepreneurship thrive and alleviates poverty. Kiva doesn’t collect nor pay us any interest on our funds and the $1 that is donated when you buy a belt helps hundreds of entrepreneurs worldwide. Your $1 isn't lent out once, it is lent out dozens and dozens of times promoting perpetual change.

At Mission Belt we decided to focus on extending loans to men and women engaged in agriculture to help alleviate global hunger.  For example, this past month we provided Nicolaza Santos (a 65-year-old woman from Honduras) with a loan to help purchase agricultural inputs, such as fertilizer. By providing her with the loan she will be able to produce more crops, which will help her, and her children beat the poverty cycle and improve their lives!
